I am not one of the contributing artists but I'd like to spread the word about this. The auction is held by Mike Daarken Lim to help pay for his girlfriend's cancer treatment. Here's some of the info:
"Earlier this year my girlfriend, Cat, was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 25. On November 3rd, 2009, she had a bilateral mastectomy after going through 16 weeks of chemotherapy. As you can imagine it has been hard for her, not only mentally and physically, but financially. In order to help alleviate some of her medical bills Leif and I wanted to throw an art auction. The proceeds that are left over after her medical bills have been paid will go to a breast cancer related charity to be determined by the artists in the coming weeks.
We currently have artists contributing that hail from all regions of the industry: concept artists, animators, photographers, sculptors, fine artists, illustrators, you name it. The theme for the auction is "Beautiful Grim." The interpretation of "Beautiful Grim" has been left up to the artists."
To help support Mike and Cat, check out the auction, spread the word, and maybe even place a bid:

Hellooooo!
"Who's this journal from?"
"Who the heck is erilu?"
"Why is this showing in my message center?"
These are some questions you might be asking yourself, it's normal. But here, read on.
Once every full moon I update my journal. Whenever I feel it's important and stuff.
So my dear dear friend ZEBES (https://www.deviantart.com/zebes) was featured as one of the best 200 deviations from 2010 in the article "Mini DDs best of 2010 Extravaganza": http://news.deviantart.com/article/146612/
And he needs

I just want to link to IzzyMedrano (https://www.deviantart.com/izzymedrano)'s journal cause words of wisdom like this must be shared whenever possible: http://ariokh.deviantart.com/journal/36245366/
"When you pay an artist for their work, their prices denote not just the cost of their time, the materials, or the effort for your project. What you are paying for is the cost of experience. A lifetime spent perfecting a craft, and honing an ability. You pay for all the mistakes we won't make for you, because we've made them for ourselves already. You pay for the mind that has been training to deal with specific problems, and generate kick ass ideas, and original concepts.
These things
A call to all you peoples!
Plan B is turning 50 soon and so to celebrate, his creator, Mr. Joshua Jenkins, is going to post your fan art on the comic's site! :excited:
If you haven't read Plan B then shame on you. And if you haven't even heard of it you should be twice as ashamed cause you are probably watching me and the two covers I did for it are in my gallery XD
It's going to be fun! Plus, you'll exercise your drawing and painting muscles!
And don't give me the "Nah, I'm in pretty good shape" excuse cause we all know in art there is no such thing as too much exercise.
You've been warned.
I won't buy it.
